About Us

La Red Latinoamericana de Astrobiología tiene sus inicios en Perú, cuando la Sociedad Científica de Astrobiología del Perú (SCAP) decide organizar el I Congreso Latinoamericano de Astrobiología en 2016. En el evento llevado a cabo en la ciudad de Lima, tras la participación de diferentes países se empieza a consolidar lo que sería la red. Para finalmente en el año 2018, en el marco del II Congreso Latinoamericano, desarrollado en la ciudad de Bogotá, se formaliza su constitución con la firma de los estatutos por parte de la Sociedad Científica de Astrobiología del Perú SCAP, el Nodo Argentino de Astrobiología y el Grupo de Ciencias Planetarias y Astrobiología GCPA de Colombia. 

The Latin American Astrobiology Network has its beginnings in Peru, when the Scientific Society of Astrobiology of Peru (SCAP) decided to organize the First Latin American Congress of Astrobiology in 2016. In the event held in the city of Lima, after the participation of different countries begins to consolidate what would become the network. Finally in 2018, in the framework of the II Latin American Congress, held in the city of Bogota, its constitution is formalized with the signing of the statutes by the Scientific Society of Astrobiology of Peru SCAP, the Argentine Astrobiology Node and the Planetary Sciences and Astrobiology Group GCPA of Colombia.
